When you say you have the best wings in Cashville, they’d better be good. The folks at Ultimate Wings certainly can pick out some good chicken. These are massive, meaty wings, breaded like fried chicken, well cooked and then drenched in sauce. And I do mean drenched. Get a few dozen extra napkins. I ordered the mild buffalo sauce which came out tangy, spicy with a slow mellow burn in the background. The overall effect is okay: you get the zap of the sauce, the fried chicken crunch and then moist chicken inside. My only question is if the flood of sauce makes the wings soggy on a to-go order? They come with a couple of rolls (which are pretty much awash in sauce) and a mediocre blue cheese dressing. On the downside the cole slaw was institutional and not very good. I did finish with a piece of homemade chocolate pie that was good. At that point I was ready for a nap.

They also do a big burger business and serve up Philly steak sandwiches, grilled bologna, grilled cheese and the usual array of meat and three sides.

The atmosphere is fun with classic R and B belting out on the stereo. Everyone knows everyone and proclaims it loudly as they come in; kids are tumbling around on the carpet, apparently practicing gymnastics. It’s a neighborhood place made mostly for takeout, although there are a couple of tables and some chairs.

I don’t know if I’d call them the Ultimate Wings in Cashville, but they are good. You could probably ask for the sauce on the side. I paid $9.50 with tax and a soda.
